Leader:
On Palm Sunday, Jesus entered the Holy City, Jerusalem.
The crowds cheered and cried
out:
People: Hosanna to the Son of David!
Leader:
Jesus rode upon a donkey and the crowds spread their garments before him,
cheering:
People: Blessed is he who comes in the
name of the Lord!
Leader:
When the leaders asked, "Who is this?" the crowds said:
All: This is the prophet, Jesus of
Nazareth, from Galilee.

“Hosanna,
Loud Hosanna” #278
*Opening Prayer
Gracious
God, as we enter this Holy Week, strengthen us to move beyond the festive
parade of palms and to follow Jesus into the way of the cross, that united with
him and all the faithful, we may one day enter through the gates of
righteousness into the eternal city, the New Jerusalem, where we may praise you
with Christ and the Holy Spirit forever. Amen.

Faithful
God, your Son Jesus reveals what it means to be a servant leader who trusts you
fully. His steadfast obedience to your will cost him dearly. Yet through his
amazing self-sacrifice, you bring healing, hope, and peace. During this week,
help us to reflect your great love in Christ. Let our words and actions point
to your grace. We present our tithes and offerings through the Prince of Peace.
Amen.
