One:
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.

One:
The light shines in the darkness.
All:
And the darkness did not overcome it.
One:
For Christ is born in Bethlehem.
All:
Come, let us adore him.

Almighty God,
Christ your Word became flesh and dwelt
among us, born in Bethlehem.
May we receive Christ into our lives and
become, through him, your blessed children who walk in the light you have sent
into our world.
Through Christ we pray. Amen.
*Chorus “Emmanuel, Emmanuel” #204

Emmanuel.

Our
Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive
us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the
power and the glory forever. Amen.
