A Time of Prayer

Prayer Hymn                                       “Trust and Obey”                                                  #467

Silent Prayer / Pastoral Prayer / Lord’s Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth

as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who

trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and

the power and the glory forever.  Amen.

*Offering Prayer

God of Life, Death, and Resurrection, we continue in our worship and praise to raise

our "Alleluias" to you! We sing out loud like those who are so confident about your

final victory over death; and yet too often we live our lives and hoard our resources,

like those who doubt who will be victorious in the end. Like Thomas, we long to see

the bodily resurrection, to see the scars where humanity has done its cruelty, and

see the face of Christ before we acknowledge your triumph. Help us to open our

eyes to see the scars that are all around, many beyond the boundaries of our

communities. And through the giving we do this morning, help us to see and show

the world the face of the compassionate, risen Savior and Lord of Love and Life!

We pray it in that holy name. Amen.
