*Offering Prayer

Loving God who loves and accepts us, yet longs for us to be our best; you see the

potential in us that we often miss. We hear with joy in the Scriptures how your

voice from heaven proclaimed your pleasure with Jesus as he rose from the

baptismal waters. Rarely have we expected such an affirmation in our lives.

Remind us again that you find that great joy when we act in selflessness, when

we give without expecting return, when we love unreservedly those who live

without love. Remind us of your joy when we offer not just our gifts, but also

our whole selves to do the work that builds your heavenly kingdom here on earth.

We pray this in the holy name of Jesus, our teacher and our Savior. Amen.
